Our Mission
To ensure the availability and affordability of high quality early childhood and family support programs for children of income eligible working families in Indian River County.
Childcare Resources of Indian River, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization.
Children Learning
The care children receive while their parents are working has a lasting effect on the kind of adults they will become. For example, children provided with quality childcare are less likely to need remedial education later on and are less likely to commit crimes (High/Scope Perry Preschool study).
Parents Working
Dependable, quality childcare enables parents to work knowing that their children are safe and learning. Employers throughout our county benefit from a stable workforce and from employees who are focused on doing their jobs well.
Families Thriving
Many families in Indian River County live close to the financial edge on a daily basis.
Childcare Resources' support, guidance and access to other needed services can make the difference between stability and crisis in a family’s life.
Working to Fill the Gap
Believe it or not, a family of four earning $33,075 annually makes too much money to qualify for state or federal childcare assistance programs. However, this same family would have a very difficult time finding approximately $8,000 in the family budget annually to afford quality childcare.
We help to fill this gap.
Childcare Resources Provides:
• Tuition assistance for quality care and early education
• Support and guidance to help maintain family stability
• Access to psychological health professionals at no cost
• A wide variety of parenting programs and family enrichment opportunities
• Professional development opportunities for early educators
Families eligible for the Programs:
• Families who meet our income eligibility guidelines
• Parents working or going to school full time
• Families living in Indian River County
Demanding The Best:
Childcare Resources demands the best from our centers because that’s what makes the biggest impact for our children:
• Low student/teacher ratios
• Accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
• Appropriate and nurturing curriculum
• Well-trained teachers and directors
• Adequate teacher compensation
• Parent-teacher conferences
• Open door policy
Invest in the future by Allowing parents to work today:
Childcare Resources contracts with seven nationally accredited childcare centers in Indian River County to ensure quality care is both available and affordable for the children of financially constrained working families. Our “graduates” are more likely to be successful when they go to elementary school and our parents are involved in the education of their children. Studies show for every dollar invested today, there is a savings of up to $13 to the taxpayer in future remedial education, criminal justice, prisons and welfare costs!1
